France and Mali: A Different Ball Game

It looks as if the war in Mali is not the kind of war France had hoped for. The Islamists appear fully trained and well-equipped according to French officials. The Libyan war has successfully created a  powerful loophole and vacuum for rebels and Islamists in West Africa with Nigeria currently having her shares through Boko Haram. France recently lost  a rescue mission in Somalia and cannot afford to come out of Mali with another failed mission. More.
